Training Overview

ISS provides detailed training and seminars to qualified partners on engineering, deployment, programming, and administration of ISS technologies.  These programs are available to architects & engineers, consultants, integrators, and installers, as well as to end users and law enforcement personnel.  The training is suited for the specific needs of the above professionals.  Training can be done in standard classroom settings or in small groups.  The following certification/training courses are offered:

  1. ISS Certification – Level 1 [Required to become ISS certified]
  2. ISS Certification – Level 2 [Optional]
  3. ISS Sales / System Design Training [Covered in ISS Certification – Level 1]
  4. SecurOS System Operator Training [Covered in ISS Certification – Level 1]
  5. System Integration Certification

Certification / training courses are held in ISS Training classrooms or can be scheduled in other locations as per agreement with our partners. Courses are available in English, Spanish, Portuguese, and Russian. If another language is required please inquire.
If you have a special request to combine multiple courses into one training session please inquire during the course registration process.


Course:  ISS CERTIFICATION – LEVEL 1
Duration: 2 days (16 hours)
Target Audience: System Installers, Support Engineers, System Administrators
Prerequisites:
Participants must have practical and technical experience with surveillance cameras/encoders, IP networking and Microsoft Windows servers and workstations.
Topics Covered:

  1. ISS Product / Feature overview.
  2. System design / quoting.
  3. Installation and administrative functionalities of the ISS SecurOS VMS software solution.
  4. All system usability features – working with SecurOS User Interface.
  5. Understanding of system file structure, modules, system builds & licensing.
  6. Understanding and configuring of all objects in the system tree, from basic virtual monitors and camera setups to intermediate functionalities such as motion zones, system architecture, federation, mapping, event viewers, audio, customization of the GUI, and user rights management.
  7. Concepts such as macros, remote connectivity, troubleshooting and health monitoring, as well as administrative modules, such as Remote Administrator, the ISS WebView, and subsystems for Notification and Automation.
  8. Everything from the SECUROS SYSTEM OPERATOR TRAINING course will be covered.

Testing: At the end of the certification course, participants must pass the certification test with a score of at least 80 percent correct.


Course:  ISS CERTIFICATION – LEVEL 2
Duration: 1 day (8 hours)
Target Audience: System Installers, Support Engineers, System Administrators
Prerequisites:
Participants must have practical and technical experience with surveillance cameras/encoders, IP networking and Microsoft Windows servers and workstations.

Participants must have completed Course: ISS CERTIFICATION –  LEVEL  1
Topics Covered:

  1. Installation and administrative functionalities of the ISS SecurOS video analytics modules.
  2. Specific focus on SecurOS AUTO, CARGO, FACE, and TRAFFIC.
  3. Best practices for camera selection, positioning and deployment.
  4. Automation / scripting functionalities using ISS video analytics modules.

Testing: At the end of the certification course, participants must pass the certification test with a score of at least 80 percent correct.


Course:  ISS SALES / SYSTEM DESIGN TRAINING
Duration: 1 day (8 hours)
Target Audience: System Architects, Resellers, Consultants, Integrators
Prerequisites:
Participants should have general CCTV knowledge.
Topics covered:

  1. Define ISS value proposition for its VMS and video analytics lines.
  2. Review use cases.
  3. Discusses system architecture from a security network perspective.
  4. In-depth review of key system capabilities such as multi-zone motion detection, scripting, user and device management, and CPU and RAM resources are covered.
  5. Discuss licensing, support structure, and pricing.
  6. How to build / quote ISS systems.

Course:  SECUROS SYSTEM OPERATOR TRAINING
Duration: 4 hours
Target Audience: System Installers, Security Operators, Security Managers
Prerequisites:
Participants must have practical and technical experience with VMS systems and working with Microsoft Windows OS.
Topics Covered:

  1. Address basics of ISS software and modules from a user/operator basis.
  2. Discuss best practices for using SecurOS Control Panel.
  3. Discuss best practices to use the SecurOS GUI, as well as most of the objects that can be utilized, including desktops, virtual monitors, maps, event viewers, and audio players/intercoms.
  4. Manage cameras (arm / disarm / record / bookmarks / image corrections / PTZ).
  5. Search / Playback / Export Video.
  6. Manage events, reactions, search capabilities, and user management.

Course:  SECUROS SYSTEM INTEGRATION TRAINING
Duration: 1 day (8 hours)
Target Audience: System Administrators, Product Managers, Developers
Prerequisites:
Participants should have experience in developing in .NET.
Topics Covered:

  1. Discuss multitude of connectivity and integration options that the SecurOS VMS and modules offer.
  2. Focus on the ISS IIDK, VIIDK, HTTP Event Gate, and Light Integration.
  3. Methodologies for debugging and troubleshooting during the integration process.
