SecurOS 8.4 Released

ISS is excited to announce the official release of SecurOS 8.4. Please contact your local ISS branch to request the software downloads.

The main new features of the release include:

Map v.3.

  • The Map module has received a new interface, redesigned settings with improved usability, and new ways to maintain it. A renewed editor is built into the Map object setup window. The editor allows to simply drag and drop objects to the map from the Object Tree.
  • The Map module is created as a SecurOS global object now, making it is possible to use the same Map on several Operator Workstations by choosing it in the local Map Window object settings. It is easy to start using the new Map module for customers who use Map v2, as *.map files can be seamlessly imported into the new Map module.



Archive Converter updates.

  • Archive Converter can now be selected from the Media Client Export Panel. Camera list was removed from object settings. Every Archive Converter now acts as a profile when exporting video from any camera in the system. So system Administrator can configure multiple Archive Converter profiles and allow the Operator to select which one they want to use for export, from the Media Client Export Panel.



Extended Media Client capabilities.

  • New toolbar is implemented to export video archive from the Media Client window. Depending on the Media Client settings, the operator can also select which export profile they wish to use (Archive Converter object).
  • The support of date format based on OS locale is implemented.
  • Operator warning feature is implemented to inform when archive recording issues occur (disk connection error, no space for recording, etc.). If archive recording is not possible a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside is displayed instead of the recording indicator.
  • New feature is added allowing to receive PTZ camera’s presets list directly from the camera and use those presets without applying any additional settings. NOTE: In the current release this functionality is supported for AXIS cameras only. List of devices that support the functionality will be extended in the next releases.
  • Added playback speed control (1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x) for a single camera or group of cameras.
  • Automatic camera page scrolling feature is implemented.


Camera Defocusing Detector updates.

  • Camera defocusing detector is completely updated. Now defocusing can be detected in a selected area of the image. The defocusing detector can be scheduled to work in a selected Time Zone.


EdgeStorage Sync updates.

  • EdgeStorage Sync capabilities and logic was improved. Now SecurOS video archive is automatically complemented by the camera’s on-board recordings only if the camera was supposed to be recording during connection losses (for example archive gaps between alarmed recordings will not be synchronized). EdgeStorage Sync can now be turned on in the Camera object settings. Starting from SecurOS 8.4 release it is possible to synchronize Axis cameras and encoders supporting VAPIX3 as well as Samsung SUNAPI 2.0 devices.


WebView updates.

  • Authentication in WebView using Active Directory account login is implemented.


HealthMonitor updates.

  • The list of system issues which can be monitored with the Health Monitor was extended. User will be informed if any of the video server CPU cores are critically loaded.


IP Device updates.

  • Axis:  Camera’s tour patrol automatically stops when operator starts to control the PTZ camera manually.
  • Verint:  Static integration is implemented. MPEG-4 video stream is supported. Telemetry (PTZ) is supported for devices using Pelco D protocol.
  • ONVIF:  Further extension of ONVIF protocol support. New command to determine PTZ camera position is implemented. Added support for devices which require dual authorization (1st via http protocol, 2nd via ONVIF).
  • Acti:  Setting for custom RTP port in video streaming advanced settings is implemented.
  • PlayerAVI:  Playback support for video archive recorded by Mobotix cameras and converted to ISS native format is implemented.
